Robyn Senior Recovery Coach
(She/her)
Hi! I’m Robyn, My journey to wellness has been full of experiences, some incredibly difficult and some wonderful. I have learned that I would not be the person I am today if it weren’t for that journey. I started my career working in an office, completing a Bachelor of Business majoring in Human Resource Management (thinking I would be working with people which was not the case) and spent my days hiring people to do a job that I longed to do myself. I bit the bullet and had a career change where I completed a Double Diploma in Community Services and Counselling and commenced a Master of Social Work. It was when I was sitting in a Mental Health Recovery lecture listening to a lived experience speaker that I realised that is where I belonged. For a long time, I was searching for a place where I felt accepted, and eventually realised I needed to accept and believe in myself to be truly happy. I’m at that place now and I like it here, and I know from the relationships I have built that I am able to help people find their own place too. So here I am, someone who has worked across the industry, from the corporate office to one on one with people, and I have found a way to use all of my skills at the same time in the role of Recovery Coach. I love what I do!
The best part of being an RC is when a participant contacts me to share that they have achieved a goal that we had set together. Being an RC is helping you see the future you want and supporting you to walk towards it. A bit like the "footsteps" poem: "We walk alongside you, and occasionally, we may help carry you until you can walk again." But for the most part, we walk together.
