In our second workshop in the Trauma Aware Program series, zoom in on how our body's nervous system responds to stress and daily experiences. It offers practical ways to calm and balance the nervous system, helping you feel more in control and emotionally grounded in your day-to-day life.

This workshop focuses on simple, practical insights to help you better understand and care for your mental and emotional wellbeing. You’ll learn:

Meet our Facilitator
Milly - Trauma Aware Care Facilitator Hi, I'm Milly, the Trauma Aware Care Facilitator at The Wellness Initiative.
I am an experienced Lived Experience Community Services Professional that specialises in Trauma and Mental Health Recovery; with over a decade of experience in the Human Services field as a Lived Experience Practitioner.
Having worked in the areas of Housing and Homelessness, Family Services, Mental Health, Peer Support, Women’s Crisis Services, Prison Rehabilitation and Disability Services; I have honed my knowledge of providing a safe and trauma aware space for my clients over the years and would love to share my findings with you as we work together to create your own way of using these tools in your life/business. I have certifications in Community Services, Counselling, Mental Health Awareness, Suicide Prevention, and Trauma Informed Practice.
Trained and mentored by Trauma experts such as Karen Hulls and Anne O’Neill (Angelhands), I am passionate about sharing and inspiring others to learn more about Trauma as a way of inspiring compassion and growth in the community as we all heal together through our learning. I also have the lived experience of PTSD recovery which grants a personalised insight into trauma recovery through practice. `
The peer movement is close to my heart, and I'm dedicated to seeing us all thrive together. I bring my own lived experience of post-traumatic growth to this role. I'm passionate about the wellness tools that have supported my own mental health journey over many years.
Creative expression, through poetry, art, music, and writing, is deeply important to me, as is spending time in nature with my dog, Bean. With over a decade of experience in the community services sector, I've worked across a range of areas, including mental health, disability services, housing and homelessness, safety and assessment, family services, peer support, and recreation for wellness.
I specialize in traumatology and trauma recovery, and I find The Wellness Initiative supports empowerment, trauma-informed practice, authentic connections, and unconditional positive regard as people lean into vulnerability and explore recovery together.
