Life can sometimes feel overwhelming or disconnected, and understanding our emotions can be a powerful way to bring clarity and purpose to everyday experiences. That’s why we’ve created Connect2U—a 5-week workshop series designed to help you explore your emotional needs, communicate effectively with those around you, and strengthen your connection with yourself.
This program isn’t just about managing emotions; it’s about learning practical, peer-based strategies to navigate the complexities of being human. Together, we’ll focus on real-world tools and insights to help you feel more equipped to handle life’s challenges. Connect2U is an inclusive space for growth, learning, and building authentic connections—no matter your background or the challenges you face.
Each session is packed with meaningful discussions and actionable skills:
Discovering and validating emotions: Uncover what you’re feeling and why it matters.
Navigating difficult emotions: Find ways to work through negative experiences thoughtfully and effectively.
Building boundaries and planning ahead: Learn ways to protect your energy and navigate challenges proactively.
Reflecting on values and navigating conflicts: Understand what drives you, and explore how to manage differences with those around you.
Practicing skills in everyday life: Take the strategies you learn and apply them in ways that make a difference day-to-day
At its heart, Connect2U is about connecting with yourself and others in a way that feels authentic, balanced, and empowering. We’re here to walk alongside you, explore your unique journey, and share tools to help you build a more fulfilling life.

What I enjoy most about Connect2U is how everyone coming along connect in a very organic way. The fluid structure of the workshop series allows conversations to feel more natural than other groups. It allows us to not only provide people with useful tools for navigating every day life, but we can model how to employ them and share with others.
Hi, my name is Scott. The journey that led me towards working in the mental health industry began after having my own struggles seeking the help I needed as a young adult. I found it tough knowing where to look for support, let alone engaging with services.
I have been immersed within an extensive support network for the last 8 years, and in that time I have supported many members of my community through their own mental health journeys. Over the years I have engaged in a variety of services myself, and while many have been beneficial, it was surrounding myself with community support that really helped me to develop more effective ongoing coping and management skills. I now find myself utilising these skills on a daily basis to offer the same support to others in my networks.
I have a great deal of experience with Autism, and more specifically Autism in combination with physical disability. For several years, I have been the primary support for my partner, who is Autistic, lives with Fibromyalgia and has many other related health issues. I identify as neuro-divergent, as do most of my closest friends.
I am very close to completing my psychology degree, with honours. This has been a proud achievement while balancing my own mental health, and has given me a great understanding of the non-linear nature of recovery.
There are detours in life that we cannot have control over, and it is in these times that the support of our peers is most important. I believe that my formal education will be a benefit to my work as a peer, as it has led to me understanding what clinicians and other medical professionals focus on. It will allow me to bridge the gap between clinical therapy and peer support in a way that provides a more well-rounded support structure for participants. I hope to support you to reach your personal goals, and making mental well-being more achievable and accessible.
